Hi, I’m Johnny Hines. Welcome to PRESSDAY. I built this site because I was tired of generic self-help advice that sounds good in books but fails in reality. Here, you’ll find practical wisdom you can actually use when things get tough.
My Story
My best lessons weren’t learned in classrooms. They came from real life. I learned resilience watching client contracts for my small marketing agency vanish overnight during the pandemic, then had to rebuild from nothing. I learned humility at my first bank job, when I was yelled at over a £10 overdraft fee. That teaches you more about empathy than any leadership seminar.
Real growth comes from steadily learning skills in ways that suit my mind, not someone else’s formula.
I discovered that the most powerful growth happens when we blend our personal ambition with a deep understanding of the world around us—and that true success is built on a foundation of strong character.
Why PRESSDAY Was Created
I started PRESSDAY because the advice I needed wasn’t out there. I didn’t need another guru telling me to “crush it.” I needed to know how to handle a difficult client, how to learn a new skill when I was exhausted, and how to lead when I didn’t have all the answers. This site is about the messy, human reality of growth.
Our Promise
Our goal is simple: to share honest lessons that help you grow. Whether you’re trying to lead a team, build a resilient mindset, or just get a little better every day, we’re here to help you do it.
What We Share
What you’ll find here are honest stories and proven strategies. We believe that how you succeed matters just as much as if you succeed. So alongside actionable tips, we share real experiences—the wins, the failures, and everything in between. This isn’t just theory; it’s advice from the trenches.
What We Focus On
- Leadership: Exploring what it takes to be a leader people actually want to follow.
- Growth Mindset: Building the resilience to navigate setbacks and the curiosity to keep learning.
- Personal Development: Actionable tools for building a more meaningful and effective life.
Our Vision
The world doesn’t sit still, and neither should we. My hope is for PRESSDAY to be a reliable corner of the internet you can turn to when you need to make sense of the noise and find a clear path forward—no matter what challenge you’re facing.
Thank you for being here. I hope you find something useful for your own journey.
