    Introduction

In my previous article, I shared practical tips on job applications. In this piece, I want to go a step further and discuss how to keep your current job, perform well, and grow with stability and progress.

Before diving into details, let’s briefly explore the idea of building oneself.

Self-development isn’t just about using your skills to serve a company or organization—it’s also about applying your energy and effort to your own work and growth. This means being committed to your responsibilities, improving your results, and sharpening your potential.

    As the old saying goes:

“Work is the essence of life. People live through work. Life is a struggle, and struggle is what sustains human existence.”

No job is heavier than what human strength can handle. That is why work must be done, and done well.

Based on my six years of work experience at ABA Bank, here are some valuable lessons.

    1. Work Hard: The Foundation of Growth

No matter the circumstances, work is part of our lives. To succeed, you must remain committed to your role and your expertise. Hard work not only builds your reputation but also strengthens your character.

    2. Maintain and Improve Results

Your current performance should never be the final destination. Regularly ask yourself:

    • Is my work accurate enough?
    • Is it delivering real value?

Whatever is lacking, improve it. Whatever is good, maintain and strengthen it. Consistency and progress are the true indicators of professional growth.

    3. Build Relationships and Connections

In any company or community, relationships are key. Why? Because no one works in isolation.

At the same time, be wise in choosing your circle:

    • True friends will support you.
    • Role models will inspire you.
    • Toxic people should be avoided.

Knowing the difference will protect your career and guide your growth.

    4. Practice Saving and Resourcefulness

Saving isn’t only about money—it’s also about taking care of what you already have. Keep your tools and belongings organized. Remember: everything wears out with use, but many things can be repaired and reused.

To help your company or organization grow, apply these principles:

    • Recover what is lost or replace it with something new.
    • Repair what is broken as best as possible.
    • Use existing resources wisely and carefully.
    • Entrust valuable assets only to people of good character.

    5. Avoid Common Pitfalls at Work

To protect both yourself and your workplace resources, stay away from:

    • All forms of gambling.
    • Excessive drinking or substance abuse.
    • Unethical or irresponsible friendships.

These habits may seem small at first, but they can destroy your career over time.

The Deeper Reflection: Human Nature and the Drive to Succeed

Since the beginning, humans have been gifted with intelligence and reasoning, which set us apart from animals. This natural gift drives us to overcome challenges and move forward.

However, not all desires have the same strength. Many dream of crossing the “ocean of life,” but only those with persistence reach the other side.

So, how can one truly achieve their dreams? The answer lies in three things:

    1. Planning – having a clear roadmap.
    2. Mastery – practicing skills until they become second nature.
    3. Training – consistently sharpening abilities through discipline.

Whether it’s religious leaders, athletes, or business leaders, success always combines these three elements.

    The Hidden Force Within You

From my own experience, I can confidently say this: within every human being lies a great natural force that drives us toward work and achievement.

When this force is combined with:

    • The will to move forward,
    • Sharpened skills,
    • And consistent training,

…it can lead to success and fulfillment of your deepest aspirations.

    Conclusion

Keeping your job and growing in your career isn’t just about showing up every day—it’s about working hard, maintaining results, building relationships, saving resources, and avoiding pitfalls.

When combined with self-discipline and human determination, these habits can help you not only keep your job but also thrive with stability and progress.

What’s your best personal tip for staying motivated and growing in your job? Share your thoughts in the comments—I’d love to learn from your experiences too!
